From palms to teaching to eating with best friends, these are the things that make for the holy. From betrayal to denial to keeping your distance even as your best friend dies, these are the the things that destroy holy community. From grieving to visiting to astounding news to God’s presence when there should be nothing but death, these are the things that restore holy community now and forever.
This is holy week. This week is about more than the knowledge of the week, but about the holy experience of being with the Christ throughout this week. This week is about the experience of life and God’s presence through the joys and pain of every day living. And, at the end, there is life in Christ.
Come worship with the holy community that is St. Paul United Church of Christ. Begin at 7:00 p.m. Maundy Thursday at the table where Jesus last ate with his disciples. Good Friday at noon with the Columbia Community and/or at 7:00 p.m. where we not only observe communion, but also are with Jesus at the cross. And certainly on Easter morning at 7:00 a.m. at the St. Paul cemetery and at 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. in the St. Paul Sanctuary where we experience new life in Christ. It is a holy week.
Sincerely in Christ,
